What is EU data residency?

EU data residency means that data is processed and stored within the European Union. Under GDPR (in force since May 2018), transferring personal data outside the EU requires specific legal mechanisms. For API-based services, EU data residency determines whether your API calls and their contents remain within EU infrastructure.
